Venture Norfolk
Venture Norfolk (venturenorfolk.ca) is a community-based, not-for-profit organization that assists individuals, businesses and organizations in the creation and maintenance of jobs in Norfolk County. As a “lender of opportunity”, Venture Norfolk provides loans up to $250,000, consultation and advice to both startup and existing small businesses in Norfolk. “Growing our Communities” speaks to the project support and grants that Venture Norfolk provides to organizations in Norfolk with an idea to improve the communities of Norfolk.
Key services provided by Venture Norfolk include:
- Small Business Loans – up to $250,000 for new or existing small businesses
- Small Business Consulting – free seminars or one-to-one meetings
- Community Projects – staff time and seed grant monies for a project
Venture Norfolk is one of 37 Community Futures Development Corporations (CFDCs) located in rural southern Ontario, receiving funding support through the Community Futures program of the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario.
Innovation Supports
Tech Alliance of Southwest Ontario provides several services to entrepreneurs: business analysts, prototyping services, market intelligence, entrepreneur tool kit, access to capital, service provider network, mentoring, and other programs.
Agriculture / Agri-Food Initiatives
To improve sharing of best practices and resources across the province, the Ontario Federation of Agriculture (OFA) developed a directory of hundreds of initiatives supporting agriculture and food. This Google Drive is publicly available as a dynamic community resource.
