Norfolk County held the inaugural meeting of Team Norfolk, a gathering of community leaders or “influencers”, to brainstorm about attracting new investment to the area, and helping retain small business.
More than 60 influential individuals from across Norfolk County filled the Erie Beach Hotel’s meeting room to capacity, and spilled over into a second room.
Team Norfolk will meet twice annually. Those attending are positive-thinking, results-oriented business leaders and others who prefer actions over words. The meetings are organized by Norfolk County’s Tourism & Economic Development Division. They also involved the municipality’s Council-appointed Tourism & Economic Development Advisory Board and Agricultural Advisory Board.
The establishment of such a team was identified as a key recommendation in the Norfolk County Economic Development Strategy.
