Norfolk County has posted the strongest ever construction start in its history. Highlights for the end of the First Quarter of 2017 include:
- 71 new dwelling units created, representing an 82% increase above the 2016 levels
- Construction value was $27.8 million, almost tripling the 2016 value
- Permit activity was also high with 208 permits issued, a 38% increase from the previous year
While this is a very positive trend to start the year it should also be recognized that the winter season was considerably milder than in previous years. This permitted builders to construct through the otherwise colder season. Mid-year results will be available shortly and shared with Norfolk County Council.
