A Building Information Forum was held in Norfolk County in December 2016 at the Simcoe Recreation Centre. The forum was presented by Fritz Enzlin, Chief Building Official for Norfolk County, in an effort to discuss various Ontario Building Code matters and the building permit process.
The Forum also identified the various roles of the municipality, the builders, designers and building officials under the Ontario Building Code Act. It was a great opportunity for builders and designers working in Norfolk County to ask questions of the Chief Building Official. A brief presentation was also provided by the Electrical Safety Authority.
Norfolk County’s Building Division plans to organize the Building Information Forum on an annual basis in an effort to open up better communication between the Building Division and the builders and designers.
