Norfolk County’s next Economic Development symposium will be the biggest yet, thanks in large part to major sponsor Millards Chartered Professional Accountants.
Millards has stepped up to underwrite a key part of the cost of the Symposium, which is popular among local business professionals. Important sponsorship support has also been secured from TD Canada and Venture Norfolk as Lead Co-sponsors, Libro Credit Union and Scotlynn Group as Program Sponsors, and G. Douglas Vallee Ltd. as Event Sponsor. More sponsors are always welcome.
“We are a business of the community for the community,” said Jeff O’Donnell, Senior Partner at Millards. “We always welcome an opportunity to give back to our community, and this event is a perfect fit with our philosophy of serving the business community at the highest level.”
Millards (formerly Millard, Rouse & Rosebrugh LLP) has a long and rich history of helping clients in Norfolk County. The company was founded in 1920 when W.H. Hamilton, C.A. opened his public accounting services in Brantford, Ontario.
Plans are well underway for the 2020 Symposium, to be held Feb. 13. This includes expanding the size of the Symposium with a move to The Aud in Simcoe, engaging the services of a dynamic Canadian as the keynote speaker, and holding the largest display of made-in-Norfolk products in the event’s history.
“Since 2008, the annual Economic Development Symposium has provided a networking and learning environment for our local business community,” said Clark Hoskin, Norfolk County’s Director of Tourism and Economic Development. “We have had sold-out crowds with long waiting lists for several years. We are very grateful to all our sponsors over the years for making the Symposium such a success.”
The Symposium is also the venue for announcing the annual Entrepreneur of the Year and Young Entrepreneur of the Year. More information is available at norfolkbusiness.ca/symposium.
