The Local Vegetable Company Inc. has purchased an eight-acre parcel of land in the Judd Industrial Park in Simcoe from Norfolk County. The company intends to construct a greenhouse for the production of lettuce and leafy green vegetables. Initial employment is anticipated to be seven to ten full time positions. Norfolk County Council was informed on November 17, 2015, that the conditions of the purchase have been fulfilled, and The Local Vegetable Company Inc. has now completed this transaction. Luscombe Drive will be extended in a northerly direction to accommodate the new development.
