    Lakeside Vista approved

    February 19, 2016

Norfolk County Council has approved the combined Official Plan Amendment and Zoning By-law Amendment by Ryan VandenBussche for the Lakeside Vista development at 2916 Front Road, west of Port Dover.

The application asked to permit music concerts (up to 5 per year, May through October for a total of 7 days including set up and clean up) and other shows and events (up to 10 per year for a maximum of 2 days in length) with accessory camping (maximum 500 sites) and related parking. The application also proposed to add fitness camps and wedding ceremonies as additional uses on the subject lands.

Lakeside Vista“The applicant has brought forward a unique economic development opportunity,” writes Planned Kayla Rell. “Planning staff recognize the uniqueness of the development proposal as it relates to economic vitality while still protecting the natural environment of the prime agricultural lands. Many of the uses proposed on the subject lands provide opportunities for sustainable tourism development that respects the natural view of Lake Erie and the landscape which is unique to the property.”

The full staff report is available on the Norfolk County website.
