Norfolk County has approved two more incentives for businesses in the Simcoe and Port Rowan areas of the municipality.
In Simcoe, 2212638 Ontario Limited will receive a grant up to $9,000 for a project under the Structural Improvement Grant and Rehabilitation Grant programs of the Community Improvement Plan (CIP). The project will include renovations and structural improvements required to create a new commercial unit within the building located at 2 Talbot Street North in Simcoe, utilizing unoccupied space.
In Port Rowan, 2449570 Ontario Inc. has recently purchased the building located at 1009-1011 Bay Street in Port Rowan. A grant of up to $8,000 for a project under the Residential Conversion and Rehabilitation Grant Program of the CIP will be used at this property for upgrades and improvements to electrical and plumbing components of both residential and commercial units in the building.
Incentives are available for architectural and design, environmental site assessment, structural improvements, building facades, agricultural building and facilities, residential conversions and rehabilitation, landscaping, signage and property improvement. Property tax increment grants are also available for larger projects.
Non-residential projects are eligible for incentives. Depending on the program, programs apply to properties in urban, hamlet, lakeshore and agricultural areas. Community Improvement Plans help municipalities target areas in transition or in need of repair, rehabilitation and redevelopment, and stimulate private sector investment through municipal incentive-based programs.
