The demolition of a former fuel station in downtown Port Dover is underway, with funding from Norfolk County’s Community Improvement Plan. The site will be remediated, which will improve the look of the town.
Back in January 2016, George Burcham was approved for a grant of up to $15,000 to demolish a building and remove all associated below ground infrastructure associated with the former gas station, under the Environmental Site Assessment Grant. This will include the excavation and removal of contaminated soil, followed by importation of clean sand fill.
