Several farmers attended the Bunkhouse Approvals Open House in May to learn about how to best plan on adding a bunkhouse to their farm, either by building a new building or retrofitting an existing one.
Representatives of the Building Department, Planning Department, Economic Development Department, Fire Department, Health Department, Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, F.A.R.M.S. and other related agencies were invited and on hand.
The Bunkhouse Approvals Open House is the final element of the communication plan to be implemented, as per the request of the Agriculture Advisory Board. Norfolk County has also communicated the bunkhouse approvals process via newspaper ads, social media, printed documents, direct email newsletters to agriculture stakeholders, and a web page at https://www.norfolkbusiness.ca/bunkhouse-approvals/.
Norfolk County staff consider the open house a success. Mission accomplished for the Agriculture Advisory Board and the enthusiastic cooperation of our colleagues in other Departments and agencies.
