Subject to an appeal to the Ministry of the Environment, construction will begin in summer of 2014 on a new 18-unit motel in Long Point by atPlay Adventures. According to developer Jeff Bouck, 14 units will contain one bedroom and four units will have two bedrooms. Parking, water and septic systems will be located at the rear. The new development will be built on the footprint of the former motel buildings and trailer sites. The popular Causeway Restaurant across the boulevard will be closed in summer 2014 during the construction of the motel. The MOE appeal was launched by neighbouring property owners. A decision is expected in late May.
