An ambitious new mixed-used development leveraging the importance of the Fanshawe Campus in Norfolk County is being considered.
An update on this collaboration was provided to Norfolk council Tuesday by John Ariens, a consultant with IBI Group of Hamilton, reports Monte Sonnenberg of the Simcoe Reformer. The group Ariens is working with has identified a 30-acre parcel at the corner of Ireland Road and Decou Road that could accommodate the High Point development. The Zitia Group is involved in the discussion because it owns the subdivision development immediately south of Oakwood Cemetery.
The plan calls for parking for 1,000 vehicles, housing units for students, adults and seniors, and recreation facilities ranging from tennis courts to a new community swimming pool.
