2019 is shaping up to be another strong development year in Norfolk County, according to Building Department estimates. Although the final numbers will not be tallied until January, officials say 2019 was busier than the year previous.
For the period of January to November 2019, the total construction value was $119.6 million, up 26% from the same period last year.
The Building Department first noticed the uptick in the summer. For the first eight months ending August 2019, construction values were 25% ahead of the same period in 2018. Construction topped $84 million in that period.
In all of 2018, Norfolk County’s Building Department recorded a healthy construction year, with more than $100 million in building projects across all sectors.
