Commitment to Infrastructure
Every year, Norfolk County upgrades its public infrastructure to ensure that industrial, commercial, agricultural, residential and institutional clients are best served. In 2015, the municipality pledged $50 million in investment including the Port Dover wastewater operations upgrades, Port Dover street reconstruction, rural road resurfacing, and the Delhi water and wastewater plant upgrades.
Utilities & High-speed Communications
Norfolk County operates water and wastewater treatment facilities in Simcoe, Port Dover, Waterford, Delhi and Port Rowan. Upgrades are underway.
Hydro One provides electricity in Norfolk County.

Norfolk County is a partner in the SWIFT initiative to bring enhanced broadband communication infrastructure to our area of southwestern Ontario. Bell, Rogers, TELUS, Koodo and Fido provide 4G LTE and HSPA+ mobile coverage in most areas of Norfolk County. Topographical anomalies and forest cover occasionally interrupt wireless service. Kwic, Execulink, Eastlink and other cable and internet companies provide Norfolk County with high-speed communications.
Norfolk County is serviced by a well-maintained network of municipal and provincial highways providing excellent access for industries to Southwestern Ontario and Northeastern United States. County Highways 3, 6, 24 and 59 connect you conveniently to the provincial road system in less than 30 minutes.
Ride Norfolk is the public transit system serving Norfolk County, including the communities of Simcoe, Delhi, Waterford, Port Dover and Port Rowan. Norfolk County Council provided financial support to establish and implement this cooperative rural transportation initiative.
Intercity Rail & Bus Service
Via Rail Canada operates the national passenger rail service on behalf of the Government of Canada. The nearest Via Rail station is located in Brantford, approximately 25 miles/40 kms from Norfolk County.
Hamilton has GO bus and train service. Closest station to Norfolk County is Aldershot.
Port of Hamilton
Located on the western tip of Lake Ontario, approximately 45 miles/72 kms, the Port of Hamilton is accessible from late March to the end of December. The port primarily specializes in the handling of dry bulk, steel and project cargoes for the industries of the surrounding areas. The terminal is linked to major North American roads and railways.
